How to Use: 1. Remove food from oven, unfold the thermometer stem from the housing and lock into open position. Turn on the digital display by pressing the “ON/OFF” button and insert thermometer in the thickest part of the meat, immersing the stem at least 1″, but not in contact with bone, fat or gristle and wait for the temperature to stabilize. 2. The “HOLD” function allows internal temperature readings to be LOCKED on the display after the thermometer is removed from the food. Press the “ON/OFF” button to activate “HOLD 3. If more cooking time is needed, remove the thermometer from the food and return the dish to the oven. 4. The digital display can be powered off or will auto shut off after a few minutes. Caution: Thermometer may be hot after use, do not touch without protecting hands. Do not leave thermometer in the oven or grill during cooking, damage to the plastic pieces will occur. Note: A plastic strip is used to prevent battery drain during shipping. Pull gently to remove before use. There is also a cling over the digital display, remove before use.
